Hello and welcome to the homepage of Forever Edmond – run to remember, run to refuse, run for a reason! Thank you for visiting our site!
We are so excited to have you learn more about our run, our reasoning, and how you can be a part of the solution!
In a two week span in January of 2012, three Edmond teenagers lost their lives to suicide. Their families, friends and the community were devastated to a degree hardly imaginable by those lucky enough not to experience it.
The strength of the community shone throughout those dark times immediately following those tragic two weeks. The amount of love, caring, and genuine kindness known to Edmond and Oklahoma City was prevalent all over the city. We started this run because we want to see that same strong community come out to celebrate life and remember those we love so much.
The money raised from this event, a 5K and 1 mile fun run/walk, is going towards starting up our very first American Foundation for Suicide Prevention (AFSP) chapter in Oklahoma. Since January, the number of suicides in our community has increased. The need for an AFSP chapter in Oklahoma is greater than ever. Please help that dream come to life.
R3 was created to remember the loved ones we lost, refuse to ever let this happen again, and realize that we are all here for a reason. Please come join us to celebrate life, family, friends and community on January 12, 2013.
Forever Edmond, Never Again.

This is a wonderful idea. I’ve been a School Counselor for several years and see the first hand pain our youth try to hide. I am glad to run and would love to help in any way that.I can.
I know it says to register but idk how and does it cost anything?
this is great and I hope tons of people follow through on this.. I don’t anybody personally that has committed suicide and I can’t imagine. My thoughts and prayers go out to all the families. In high school you see hear and experience lots of things and I think Oklahoma really does need this program.. good luck can’t wait till Jan 12
This is a wonderful cause you have taken on! Not a day goes by that we don’t think about our good friend and former neighbor. Jacob G. gave us so much to remember and so much to smile and laugh about! He will always be close to our hearts!!
We are so very proud of you all . Our prayers are with you always. We will be right beside you, running ( well maybe one of us walking ) on January 12. God Bless you all and we love you !!!!
I live in MWC…my 15 year old son took his own life on September 4, 2012 without warning. Some may say there had to be signs that I missed…that may be true, but I talked to him every day about what was going on with him in every aspect of his life. He was my best friend and myself, my family and his friends just did not see this coming at all. E was so full of life…we were just talking about his future that morning. He was a bright and funny kid…he had plans to join the Marines since he was 7 years old. He is terribly missed and we are all still trying to make sense of something no parent should ever have to endure. My heart goes out to those families in Edmond. I’m so glad to see this run coming together!
Bruce Willit, thank you for sharing your letter with the faculty of Edmond Memorial High School. I had not heard of this run before your letter but now plan to attend in tribute to Cameron and the others lost. I still fondly remember Cameron’s smile in class. I wish we could have all helped to put that extra 9 there when Cameron couldn’t.
Please pre register me for the race.
Ive been thinking about Jacob ALOT, I mean he was my best friend and the person who seriously knew EVERYTHING about me, he is still there for me. In mass, the thought of wanting Jacob to come back is kinda selfish of us. Obviously he was some how hurting while he was alive, and as we all want, we want Jacob to have absolutely zero, none, nothing, pain, emotional and or physical. So why should be want to have Jacob back if he was hurting, we should be happy that he is in heaven and he is safe from all harm. He is now living what ever man strives for: the pursuit of happiness. TIH Love you Jacob! I pray for his soul and for ya’lls family! I love you and miss you guys!
Hello, I was wondering if I could help out or still sign up.
